Owner Builder Loans Construction loans for owner builders are available if you have sufficient equity in a property or in properties, other than the one you are intending to build. If this is not the case, there are still options available. We can assist owner builders with a loan for up to 80% of the completed value for owner occupiers. By using the recommended Home Building System, we can assist you to borrow up to 80% of the completed value of your project. The Home Building System is the only system recognised by Australia's largest mortgage insurer, providing mortgage insurance certification. This system not only means that large savings can be made by the Owner Builder, but the lender may lend close to 95% of the cost of the project, depending on the valuation of the completed property. Previously, lenders would consider lending approximately 60% of the LVR for owner builders as historically building costs for owner builders were difficult to esimate accurately and additional funds would often be needed to see the owner builder through to completion. The Home Building System is a unique system allowing you to achieve the full 80% finance you require.
